A favorite family enjoyment of mine is sitting on my parent's back porch in the Summertime drinking ice cold beer listening to my Dad tell stories about his prior military service and how my parent's met... Typically our dogs are running around the yard chasing once another or running between our feet fighting over who gets the tennis ball. My Dad is a huge fan of grilling out so the sweet smell of something delicious is cooking in the background along with the radio blaring from the garage, classic rock and country...Though we are not in the United States (at the moment) and a bar plays substitute to the back porch it's certainly nice to have my Dad with me in Bahrain. I took my Dad to Ric's Country Kitchen last night for good conversation over a few Bud Lights - my friends have a better understanding of where I get my coolness from as they drank a few my Dad and I as well.
Well, to conclude this memory sharing blog there is only one thing that would make my Dad's visit a tad bit sweeter... if my whole family could join us in the Middle East!
